Our Story: From the Heart of the Community
Helen Chandra, our visionary founder leads with deep cultural connection, community purpose and an unwavering commitment to uplifting Pacific Islander Americans, AAPI and underrepresented voices. Her mission began with a powerful belief: that our stories deserve space, our identities deserve visibility and our communities deserve a platform built with intention, dignity and cultural intelligence.
Based in Fairfield, California, Helen recognized the absence of a 24/7 digital broadcast media in the Bay Area offering cultural news and sports with popular English hits/favorites alongside home grown island Pacific and World Music- all delivered in the English language. She also saw the deeper gap: the lack of mainstream media presence where Pacific Islanders, AAPI and multicultural communities could be represented with accuracy, respect and cultural depth. Through PacifikLive she’s built a digital home where culture thrives, stories are honored and every underrepresented voice is valued. What began as a community anchored vision has grown into a bold Rise-elevating Pacific Islander, multicultural and AAPI storytelling into the mainstream media landscape.
The Rise is grounded in heritage, powered by community, carried by our elders and built for the next generation of Pacific Islander and AAPI storytellers, leaders and creators.
